In fact, she opens the minds and hearts of characters who truly respond and act out of their inherent condition of life from the other side of the tracks; The struggle in the quicksand of prejudice and hate...the realization that The American Dream was never intended to include everybody...especially those swallowed by the gaping cracks ...the ones left behind in ghettos everywhere...the unfortunate and expendable dregs who, (we'll say), had every opportunity to change their lot...and we will further point to the incredible FEW who "made it", as barometers of their failings....
