Black Boy
Richard Wright

I was nudged to this book after reading a collection of Haiku by Richard Wright. It is a wonderfully "charged" account of life for Blacks in mid-century, 40's and 50's, Deep South America.

If you can read this book and not feel a sense of "brokenness" of our society...a sense of "responsibility" (NOT blame) for repairing the damage done...then I would be a bit surprised...Great Book...should be on required High school reading lists.
