Disappointment With God
Phillip Yancey
Jeanne K (my wife) and I are big fans of Phillip Yancey. I had never read this book and found myself paging through it at the bookstore recently. I took it home and have enjoyed a slow pouring over of the chapters. It is a very insightful and straight-shooting poke at the sort of situations many of us encounter in our daily walk. Where is God in all of this??!??!?? It's a not so unusual question or concern...get in line.

Well you've intrigued me and I went upstairs to check out our copy. I'll let you know what I think.
Must recommend to you Breach of Peace about the 1961 Freedom Riders in the South. Etheridge found the mug shots of the arrested Riders. Intrigued by the pictures of the young people, he tracked them down and interviewed them. It reads quickly, but very powerful! While I share the same beliefs as these young people, would I have been that brave? I'm not sure, which bothers me.
Well I started Disappointment this weekend. He is a very good writer. I will definitely have to keep him in mind when working with library patrons.
